EYE DEARS? EYE D ESS? NO IDEA?
Alright guys and girl, just throw your ideas on exertion games right here. Don't worry about criticism, the great thing about the internet is the anonymity and the glorious amount of free things. FYI, Floyd and our fellow game design and digi art comrades are reading this so IDEAS! IDEAS!

Hi group this is Simon iv come up with my first exertion game idea, at like 2 am last night and I'm just going to copy the notes i wrote down last night and hopeful it will make sense. :D
ReplyDelete"Ball of fun!"
It is a soft ball that has a computer in the middle of it. I'm thinking it would be about the size or a little smaller then a dodge ball.
The out side of it can change colours or maybe even have images so the out side of the ball is like a screen.
It has speakers and voice recognition, so you can communicate with it. Each player wears an arm band (maybe one on each arm) that is colour coded so the ball knows the difference between the players and each players location.
there is a set of games the ball will start at random times (all the games will be mixed up and fast paced) and will track how well each player dose, and at the end will rank players in how they did, first over all the games then (optional) ranking of each individual game.
Game Examples
1. "Bomb game"
Ball goes green= green player starts with the ball. Ball starts making ticking noises that gets faster, this indicates that it is the "Bomb Game" the player closest to the ball when the bomb goes of (explosion noise) loses the game.
players have to work out when to get rid of it, try and time it so you throw it just before it goes of ? or just through it strait of and hope it doesn't get chucked at you at the wrong time.
2.
"hot potato"
Say it starts of with red player then changes colour, red player passes it to the player with the new colour as fast as they can and as soon as they have it, it will change again and so on. the aim is to have the shortest time passing it to the next player.
3.
"tag"
some one will start with the ball then you will here "tag" then change to another players colour and as fast as you can you have to tag that player and bounce the ball on the ground. the player being tagged is free to try and stay away from the tagger as long as the can.
4.
"keeping's off"
ball will flash 2 colours then tern gold that means those to players have to keep the ball from the other player(s) for as long as they can the players cant stand to close to each other and the ball will flash indicating one of the players needs to pass it to the second player fast or it will be the end of the game.
-can be played with a small or large group and can be played anywhere with enough room.
-can plug ball into a computer to change/add/update software and preferences like what games it will use.
-it can talk, funny comments, bag players, make jokes, have a funny accent, have a personality. (maybe make this optional)
(when I was doing my TAFE course last year me and some other classmates would play around with a small soft ball playing throw and catch. This proved to be endlessly entertaining and a good way to feel connected and create a bond with my classmates, this is where I got my inspiration for the idea)
I'm totally up for that, man. Sadly I've got no ideas for any sort of exertion game, besides one that involves a mobile phone and using it as some sort of chinese whispers. However it's not really an exertion game by definition.
ReplyDelete^^Above comment was Chester, 1st comment was Simon. We need to really post our names first.
ReplyDeleteSimon: yay!! iv been waiting for someone else to post :D. maybe with the Chinese whispers thing maybe you could have people pass on a list of random things to do that requires physical movement instead of just a sentence?.
